About Me...
Some dogs have a way of changing the course of our lives.
For me, that began with a spirited little beagle named Ladybug. She was my childhood companion, loyal and faithful protector, and the dog who started it all.
Years later, caring for my senior dogs, Amber and Daisy, gave me an entirely new appreciation for this season of a dog's life. As they grew older, I saw how much could change — mobility, confidence, senses, routines, and the things they enjoyed — but also how much remained.
They still wanted to sniff, explore, play and, most importantly, be included. To have something interesting happen in their day. They still wanted to be dogs.
That simple realization became the heart of why I started The Senior Canine Company.
Today, I combine my love of dogs, canine enrichment education, Fear Free® principles, and personal experience caring for aging companions to help other caregivers navigate their dogs' senior years with greater understanding and confidence.
My goal is to share practical knowledge, thoughtful guidance, and compassionate support that helps senior dogs continue enjoying life — while helping the people who love them feel more informed, prepared, and supported along the way.

PHILOSOPHY:
Older doesn't mean done.
I believe every senior dog deserves joy, curiosity, connection, and the freedom to keep doing the things they love — just at their own pace.
Through caregiver education and coaching, I encourage an approach that respects each dog's individuality, changing abilities, comfort, and choices. By better understanding their senior dogs, caregivers can discover meaningful ways to keep them engaged, included, and enjoying everyday life.
Because growing older may change what fun looks like.... it doesn't make fun any less important.
WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?
